Report of the 2nd Workshop on Continuous Software Engineering
In order to develop and deliver high-quality products to their customers, software companies have to adopt state-of-the-art software development processes. To face this challenge, companies are applying innovative methods, approaches and techniques like agile methods, DevOps, continuous delivery, test automation, infrastructure as code or container-based virtualization. These new approaches hav...
متن کاملReport from the 2nd Workshop on Extremely Large Databases
The complexity and sophistication of large scale analytics in science and industry have advanced dramatically in recent years. Analysts are struggling to use complex techniques such as time series analysis and classification algorithms because their familiar, powerful tools are not scalable and cannot effectively use scalable database systems. The 2 Extremely Large Databases (XLDB) workshop was...
متن کاملReport on the 2nd Annual Infinium Humanmethylation450 Array Workshop
The Illumina Infinium HumanMethylation450 BeadChip - the successor to their hugely popular HumanMethylation27 BeadChip - is arguably the most prevalent platform for large-scale studies of DNA methylome analysis. After the success of last year's meeting (1) that discussed initial analysis strategies for this then-new platform, this year's meeting (held at Queen Mary, University of London) includ...
متن کاملWorkshop Report on New Technologies for Chess
The moderator opened the session by briefly reviewing the highlights of the previous workshop, drawing the listener’s attention particularly to the contributions of those who were not present this year. He cited the work of Ken Thompson, who had described a hardware-software system for reliably transcribing game listings in chess books into machine readable form, thus making it possible to corr...
متن کاملFast - Discharge - Initiated KrF Laser
Intense laser emission has been observed from the KrF molecule formed by a chemical reaction initiated by fast-discharge circuitry. With a gas mixture of He:Kr:NF, = 500:50:1 and a sample pressure of 700 Torr, an output energy of 0. 8 mj was measured from a 25-nsec laser pulse (FWHM). Spectral analysis of the laser emission indicated laser action at 248.5 and 249.5 nm.
